Air Force Nanosat Competition
MS&T students are finding their own ways to apply campus research and work in their senior design projects. Aerospace students participate in the Air Force nanosatellite competition, under the direction of Dr. Henry Pernicka, making their alma mater proud—and Rovey offers his assistance to students who are also in his classes. "They've done really well in the past couple of years,” he says proudly. “In fact, their first time out, they got third place! They beat all the other new teams, and they actually beat some of the experienced teams as well."
The UMRB grant was instrumental—it was just last year, and it has led to two funded projects so far.
