Students learn to think about plasma differently in Rovey's physical gas dynamics class. As he puts it, "the students find it really interesting because, as undergraduates, they learned to think of fluid as a continuum. But when we get into physical gas dynamics, they start to consider the motion of the individual atoms and molecules."
The UMRB grant was instrumental—it was just last year, and it has led to two funded projects so far.
