The grant that Will received from the University of Missouri Research Board enabled him to purchase automated feeding equipment, which made data collection and analysis easier and more efficient. As he says, “it gave me new information that I wouldn’t have gotten otherwise, and it really took part of our research project in another direction.” Very significantly, the grant also enabled Will to conduct additional research that helped him obtain a larger grant from the National Institutes of Health.
The pilot data I acquired from the UMRB grant was critical in getting external funding.
