Will's research meshes perfectly with his teaching, allowing him to “give [students] a little window into the field” and provide “more of the cutting-edge science than what they would get from the textbook.” Not only does he incorporate his lab-based findings into his courses, but he also gives undergraduate and graduate students alike the opportunity to conduct research in his program, either through independent projects or via collaborative work.
The pilot data I acquired from the UMRB grant was critical in getting external funding.
