Will describes his research on food addiction, noting that "it’s becoming very commonplace and accepted that food is addictive, and that we need to study it just like we study drugs of abuse." As strange as it may seem, he equates Snickers bars with drugs of abuse, using visuals to show how “the brain changes in the same way to a very powerful drug of abuse and a high-fat food.”
The pilot data I acquired from the UMRB grant was critical in getting external funding.
