Impact of the UMRB Grant
Bahar observes that the funding she received from the UMRB, which supported Ph.D. candidate Roxana Contreras in the brain-imaging study, was crucial because it speeded up the research process. “If we can move forward twice as fast,” she explains, “we can help human patients faster.” The preliminary findings gained from the grant also helped faculty members apply for larger external grants.
If you use it wisely, and you have a very gifted student to help with your research, the money from the Board grant really helps.
