"The Divine Sarah"
One of the most lauded actresses the world has ever seen, The Divine Sarah visited Kansas City on five of her nine U.S. tours. During World War I, she raised interest among Americans through her performances, trying to subtly influence the country to join the war.
The UMRB grant gave me the time to go to the downtown library and sit there all day, reading newspapers, immersed in the past.
