Leventis discusses his four years of work with NASA’s space program, in which he was involved with several projects that use cross-linked aerogels. In 2005 NASA awarded Leventis the Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal, praising him for his “groundbreaking research in the development of polymer cross-linked aerogels.”
